2011 PNE Prize Home
The inspiration for this 3100 sq ft home came from a small swatch of fabric found at a local supplier. Taupe, cream, rust and black in a stylized acanthus leaf pattern with organic, sinuous lines. The remnant, all that was left at the store, only covers 2 small toss cushions used in the living room, but it influenced the old-world styling that extends from the wrought iron entry doors to the custom upholstered chairs and decorative motif found in the girl’s bedroom.
Keeping in mind that the house attracts over 100,000 visitors during the fair, durability and functionality were kept top of mind. Features in the home include ‘vinyl’ hardwood floor, quartz countertops and hardwearing, washable fabrics.
The home was relocated to Kelowna after the Prize Draw was won by a lucky ticket holder.
