Some things old, some things new.
Some things old, some things new, make your home unique to you.
When it comes to decorating and designing your home, what makes it truly unique are the elements you add that speak to you. Don’t be afraid to add your own personal touches, handed down treasures or refurbished finds.
The owners of this home are avid collectors of vintage furniture and ‘objects of interest’, so it was important to them that the flooring and walls were kept neutral to let these pieces show in their best light.
We replaced the hodge podge of flooring with a warm brown hardwood and added wainscot trim to the walls to enhance the ‘craftsman’ style of the home and compliment the 10’ ceilings. Then we painted all the ceilings, walls and trim a soft, creamy white (Sherwin Williams ‘Cheviot’) to create a neutral backdrop for all the furniture and curated collectibles.
To break up the monotony of the white in the long halls and kitchen we used a deep, dark navy (Benjamin Moore ‘Soot’) on the interior passage doors and kitchen island.
