Elegant Family Home

A beautiful white oak hardwood was the jumping-off point for this project. It formed the backdrop for the layers of cream, white and taupe used throughout the home in furnishings and millwork. To create a grand entrance we installed Wainscot panels to the curved entry staircase.

Fresh flowers greet guests upon arrival and give a hint of what is to come. Soft mauve, blush and green accessories and artwork accent the space creating a quiet, sophisticated colour palette.
In the family room, we added a large slider where there was once a small window. Now the back yard and covered deck are accessible for this active family.

While the layout of the kitchen was functional, the overall colour palette and styling of the cabinets were dated. We kept the cabinet boxes and replaced all the door and drawer fronts with an updated white shaker style profile.

To ground the space, we used matte black door and cabinet hardware, then layered in brushed gold and black light fixtures to tie it all together.
