Tossed and Found Design Tip

Design Tip: Tossed & Found Transformation

In the last newsletter, I mentioned that I love junk! I especially love to find freebies that I can transform into something useful and beautiful.

I found this brushed nickel & brass coffee table frame sitting by the side of the road. I drove past it a few times, thinking someone must have made a terrible mistake and would return to claim this beauty. Well, after about 3 weeks I returned to the same spot and it was STILL THERE!! So I quickly snatched it up and threw it into the back of my car.

It needed a bit of work because it had sat out in the rain. So I gave it a good clean, sanded down the rusty spots, masked off the areas that were solid brass, then gave it several coats of Black Tremclad Rust Paint (spray).  I had my local glass supplier make a piece of glass to put on top.  I am so pleased with how it turned out. It now has a permanent home in my family room.
